Registration will be open soon for the 2020-21 season TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUTS
2020-21 Hockey season will begin 8/24/2020 with Dryland Training for both Travel and Club teams
Registration will open soon
Due to the situation with COVID and the uncertainty of ice. FYHA has come up with a plan to keep/get kids in shape with hockey specific off ice training, until they can get on the ice. The season will start with 12 weeks of Hockey Specific Dryland training 3x’s a week at Flagstaff Athletic Club. Players will work with coaches and trainers doing strength and conditioning as well as hockey specific skills. This dryland program is for both Travel Teams and Club Teams. Players will train with their age group.
As things with the pandemic change and if ice becomes available, we will switch to on-ice practices. If ice is not available after the 12 weeks, we will look at the possibility of extending the dryland program into the spring session. The current registration cost covers dryland only. If ice becomes available additional cost will be required.
Cost: Dryland registration Cost: $250.00 (This can be split into payments). In addition to the cost of dryland registration each player will be required to register with USA hockey. The fee for the USA registration is approximately $60.00. If ice becomes available there will be additional cost for ice practices.
Dates: Dryland will begin August 24th- November 20th
Practice times: Practices will be Monday, Wednesdays, and Thursday. All groups will be together on Monday and Wednesday and then at different times on Thursday (depending on age)
Monday & Wednesday 6:00pm-7:45pm with FYHA Coaches (45 minutes) & FAC trainers (45 minutes). All age groups.
Thursdays- with FYHA coaches only. 6:00-7:00pm (8U & 10U) 7:00-8:00pm (12U & 14U)
Where: All dryland practices will be at Flagstaff Athletic Club East (FACE). We will meet at the bubble. The big white tent.
Safety Precautions: All participants will be required to wear a mask, temperatures will be taken prior to entering the facility, hand washing and cleaning will take place before kids move to a new area and social distancing will be practiced.

FYHA wants to return to the ice as quickly and safely as possible and has developed a COVID Safety Plan that has been submitted to City staff to demonstrate that we are ready and able to get back on the ice safely. Guidelines from USA Hockey and US Rinks have been incorporated into the plan. The plan consists of various safety levels that would allow us to move back and forth between levels based on the current risk level.
It is our hope that this plan will allow our private user group and other private user groups to return to the ice before Phase 4 of the City of Flagstaff's Re-Entry plan.
Show your support for the FYHA COVID Safety Plan, or submit your own ideas via email to Mayor Coral Evans and city council members. Lets get these hockey players back on the ice in a safe manner!
